Hello! I'm Aida Bermudez, a Bilingual (English and Spanish) Instructional Designer currently living in Berea, Kentucky. I am originally from Queens, New York but spent my formative years in Miami, Florida. I am a proud First-Generation College graduate from Florida International University (FIU) with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Astronomy. I am also a soon to be an Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) graduate with a M.S. in Instructional Design and Learning Technology.
My professional journey includes roles as the Planetarium Console Operator in the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, and as the Planetarium Educator at the Hummel Planetarium at EKU. I have also served as the Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator for the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and as the Program Specialist for the EKU's Division of Natural Areas. These positions fueled my passion for informal teaching and help me realized the importance of distributing accurate information, especially in a time of widespread misinformation. In 2020, I saw professors struggle to teach classes online, and I realized the need of learning how to teach virtually. That is when I found the Instructional Design program at EKU. Currently, I am an Instructional Designer Intern with the ID Training group at Passion for Life, Inc. Our team is tasked with developing the onboarding training, the orientation workshop, and the career coach training for their summer camp. As an Instructional Designer, I strive to make engaging and educational content that is accessible to everyone. My goal is for everyone to have access to accurate knowledge. |
